snow

Snow indicates that winter is upon us. It makes very recognizable places, unrecognizable.  As the world is covered with a blanket of snow, turning it into a winter wonderland. The shining sun peaks through the clouds, making the snow glitter on the ground.  What an amazing sight to see.  Some people would love to see a sight like that, especially if it’s mid-day. Snow just makes the world more interesting by,     taking you into a different world. Where it’s always white, cold, and little bit wet.  It’s a great thing to have around. Snow can lighten up people’s days.

Christmas PS3

Author's note: We needed to write a point of view piece, and one of my friends got a PS3 for christmas. So, I wrote about a PS3 point of view on christmas

Waiting in the cold box. To be open on Christmas, and to see the look on his face. It will be a large grin on his face. I just can’t wait! Just one more night in this cold box. Tomorrow I will finally get out. I wake up the next morning to stomping feet coming down the stairs. I hear the oo’s and ah’s as the kids looked at their presents. One says “Me first!” Then the box was opened, and the boy had a huge smile. “Thanks Santa!” Then as he and his sister open other presents I wonder will I be here long? I hope so!

State quarters

Have you ever collected anything? I have collected quarters for each state for in the United States.  The map is a kid version of the United States because the states are brightly colored.  My dad started the collection in 1999 and I finished in 2008. Every year five new state quarters would come out. They came out in the order of the year they became states. Starting with Delaware, which was the very first state admitted into the United States and ending with the fiftieth state, Hawaii. When I was littler, I thought collecting state quarters was really cool.

Wisconsin pro sports

Wisconsin is having a great year in pro sports.  The Green Bay Packers won the super bowl and the next year went 15-1.  They have also entered the playoffs as the first seed.  This Sunday they will play the fourth seed New York Giants.  The Milwaukee Brewers finished 96-66 and were first in the NL central division. In the playoffs, they were the second seed in the National League. Then they faced the third seed Arizona Diamondbacks and won the series 3-2. After that, the Brew crew faced the wild card and soon World Series champs,  St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals won the series 4-2 and ended a great season for the Milwaukee Brewers.  The Bucks started their season 3-6, with a perfect home record at 3-0. Also, a winless away record at 0-6. With a lot of the season ahead of them, I’m hoping they can turn themselves around.
