Heinz field

My favorite football field is Heinz field. It is the home of the Pittsburgh steelers and the university of Pittsburgh. Heinz field was built in 2001, so it is a fairly recent stadium. It had over 12,000 tons of steel in the design of the field. The grass there is real, but gets lots of citizisiom. It hosted its’ first game in september of 01, and every home game since the start, it has been sold out.

Matt Kemp

Right now, my favorite baseball player is Matt Kemp of the L.A. Dodgers. He is the starting center fielder, he has 484 RBIs, 140 home runs, 146 stolen bases, and 882 career hits. Just last year, he won Baseball America Major League Player of the year, Hank Aaron Award, Golden Glove award, Silver Suggler award, Sporting News’ National League All-star Team, and was second on the National League Most Valuable PLayer Award, only to Ryan Braun. He is one of  the most elite players out there today. But, just this weekend he was injured, I think he might of pulled a hamstring. I am not completely sure it it is true. He will come back and win games soon.

Smybolism and Literary Devices homework

Smybolism

This list of symbolism is from the short story “No Escape(Hero)” by Reader’s Digest- February 2008

1.       In the first sentence they mention it was fall. Fall usually symbolizes Irony, but this story is more of a tragedy. With people almost dying, and a hero emergening.

2.       A whoosh of air before the water came I think is a bad sign like the start of a tragedy. Where the people drown in water.

3.       Niagara-like roar of black water, to me it symbolizes that they will get rushed with water, and might just drown.

4.       The time it took place was again, was a time for Irony. It was nightfall, or I thought so. I think 6’o clock would be night fall at some places or times of the year.

5.       When the cage came down for Swaby, it was like the end for the tragedy, but  then the writing reminds you that there’s 2 more guys stuck down there.

6.       The blackness of the sewer system would be in a tragedy, like most of the symbols. Darkness is unknown and scary.

7.       Storms works into tragedy, showing that when storms are around, something bad might happen.

8.       This last one is not on the list but, I think that a dark swear, is a tragedy. It has a very grim setting and give of a felling for something bad.
